Plunge Wellness Waiver & Terms and Conditions

By purchasing this pass and anything from Plunge Wellness and reading the terms and conditions, I am agreeing to and signing this release of liability form below.

I am submitting this release, waiver of liability, and assumption of risk declaration voluntarily and of my own free will.

I have no physical or emotional problems, nor any history thereof, which will impair my ability to utilize the facilities at Plunge Wellness in a safe manner.

I understand and agree that it is my responsibility to assess the hazards presented by my use of the facility and services at Plunge Wellness, and I further agree that I am the ultimate judge regarding my personal use of the circuit without risk of harm to myself.

I understand and expressly assume all responsibility and potential risks to using the entire facility and hereby RELEASE ALL CLAIMS, including but not limited to, personal injury, property damage or destruction, and death, whether caused by negligence, breach of contract or otherwise, and whether for bodily injury, property damage or loss otherwise, which I may ever have against the Plunge Wellness.

My use of the facility is entirely optional and is of my own free choice. My use of the facility is in no way a requirement of the Plunge Wellness. Any other provision of this release to the contrary notwithstanding, I understand that am liable for any damages, deterioration and/or loss of use of the facility, its systems and/or contents, should such loss occur due to my use of the circuit for any reason.

Thereby assume all risks associated with my use of the circuit. I hereby agree to irrevocably release and waive any claims that have now or may have hereafter against Plunge Wellness and hold them harmless from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to the use of the circuit including but not limited to any slip and fall incident referred to above. I have read and fully understand and agree to the above terms of this Liability Waiver Agreement. I am signing this agreement voluntarily and recognize that my signature serves as the complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law in the Province of British Columbia, Canada.

Contraindications and cautions before using a hot/cold circuit:

Not recommended during pregnancy.

Recent (acute) joint injury - should not be heated for the first 48 hours after an injury or until the swollen symptoms subside. If you have a joint or joints that are chronically hot and swollen, these joints may respond poorly to vigorous heating of any kind.

Severe allergies to salt or cedar wood.

Hemophiliacs and anyone predisposed to hemorrhage/bleeding.

Any disease associated with reduced ability to sweat. Consult a physician if you are on certain prescribed medicine which gets affected by elevated body temperature.

Individuals who are using prescription drugs should seek the advice of their personal physician or a pharmacist for possible changes in the drug's effect when the body is exposed to infrared waves or elevated body temperature.

Diuretics, barbiturates and beta-blockers may impair the body's natural heat-loss mechanisms.

Over-the-counter drugs, such as antihistamines, may also cause the body to be more prone to heat stroke.

For the elderly - The ability to maintain core body temperature decreases with age. This is primarily due to circulatory conditions and decreased sweat gland function. The body must be able to activate its natural cooling processes in order to maintain core body temperature.

Individuals with cardiovascular conditions or problems (hypertension/hypotension), congestive heart failure, impaired coronary circulation or those who are taking medications which might affect blood pressure should exercise caution when exposed to prolonged heat. Heat stress increases cardiac output and blood flow in an effort to transfer internal body heat to the outside environment via the skin (perspiration) and respiratory system. This takes place primarily due to major changes in the heart rate, which has the potential to increase by thirty (30) beats per minute for each degree increase in core body temperature.

It is not advisable to attempt to "sweat out" a hangover. Alcohol intoxication decreases a person's judgment; therefore, they may not realize when the body has a negative reaction to heat. Alcohol also increases the heart rate, which may be further increased by heat Stress.

  • Do not use the sauna for more than 15 minutes
